SOS Butler created this program so that every soldier from the 1/112th Mech. INF unit, serving
in "Operation Iraqi Freedom," receives care packages on a regular basis from a local resident.

    Guidelines Of The Program

 – For security/ confidentiality purposes, the sponsor(s) will

be provided with the first name, rank and birth date of
a soldier. (Any correspondence from the sponsor to the soldier must be sent to SOS Butler, who, in turn, will ship
it to the soldier.)

– The sponsor(s) would be responsible for sending a care

package on a regular basis for the entire length of the soldier’s tour of duty (tentatively scheduled to continue
thru November of 2005).

– SOS Butler asks that sponsors send their soldier a care

package once every six weeks. Sponsors may send packages more frequently, if desired. (Since the soldiers
have confined living areas and minimal storage space, sending smaller boxes, more often, is ideal.)

– If a sponsor prefers not to shop for items to send, ready-made

care packages are available for purchase. Three sizes are available: small (5 items)- $10.00, medium (10 items) - $20.00, and large (15 items)- $30.00.

– Because of strict military regulations and security concerns,

the actual packaging and shipping of the care packages
must be performed by SOS Butler representatives.
(A $5.00 donation to help with the cost of shipping is appreciated, but not a requirement to participate within
this program.)

There is no minimum or maximum amount of items that is required to be arranged within the
care packages. For a complete list of approved items, please click here.
