SGT Chuck
Norris was injured when an IED exploded while he was
participating
in a vehicle recovery mission within his sector. SGT
Norris sustained a closed
head injury and some hearing loss. He is recovering
well, remains with the rest
of Co. A, 1/112th, and will demobilize with the company
as planned.
SGT
Paul Statzer
Sgt. Paul
Statzer continues to recover from his injuries. He (and
his father) are continuing to stay at the Mologne House
at Walter Reed Army Medical Center while
Sgt. Statzer continues to receive a variety of
out-patient treatments. Sgt. Statzer has
many surgeries in his future at Walter Reed.

SGT Barnhart
is also doing well. He, too, remains at Mologne House
while
receiving infrequent outpatient care at Walter Reed. He
has currently been working
as a National Guard liaison out of Washington D.C.
SFC Joseph
Ackerson and SGT Stephen Ceriani
In addition to
SGT Statzer & SGT Barnhart, SFC Joseph Ackerson
was
hospitalized with numerous shrapnel wounds. SGT Stephen
Ceriani was also
inured by shrapnel. All four earned Purple Hearts in an
IED attack (secondary
IED explosion, as in there was an earlier IED with WIA
US soldier(s) thus
prompting them to check out the damage when they got
hit.)
Ackerson & Ceriani have since returned to duty.

SGT Shaeffer
remains at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for treatment
of
non-combat related injuries.
SPC Brian
McCauley
SPC McCauley has been
released and medically cleared to Bravo Company
home
station.
1LT Ronald
Koss and SPC Thomas Norris
Both were
injured by shrapnel and have since returned to duty.
SSG Steven
Kerr and SPC Matthew Sweigart
These soldiers
of the 1/112th were also injured and have since returned
to duty
in Iraq.
Now, more than ever, we need to show support for our
soldiers, and pray for the
safe return of all of the men and women serving in the
Armed Forces. |
